Earlier this week footage from Activision’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts appeared online. The footage was shared via YouTube but was not an officially released trailer from Activision. Since the video was posted Activision community manager Dan Amrich explained that the footage in the video was created by a fan using previous footage from an IGN preview video. The video is in fact fake and is not a representation of the game.

Amrich did apologize for the video and said:

“being part of the misinformation and the constant problem of unreliable information found on the Internet.”

The video has now been deleted from YouTube. The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts is currently in development by Terminal Reality but has not been given a release date but is expected to release sometime in 2013 and will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
