Many developers and fans have praised Sony for their decision to include a Share button on the Playstation 4. It opens up a world of possibilities for people who want to capture glorious gaming moments and upload frag videos to YouTube, it might even be able to accommodate streaming.

But, some developers may want to disable the Share button to stop people from posting spoilers or other sensitive content about the game.

“There will be parts of a game that the maker does not want people to be able to see,” he said. “For example, on Vita, developers can in certain scenes disable the feature that lets users take a screenshot, and [the Share function] will have a similar mechanism.” said Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida. “The creator may not want to make video of the final boss sharable, for instance.”

It seems like Sony learned from their mistakes with the PS3 and plan to make the PS4 as developer friendly as possible.

The Playstation 4 is set to release worldwide later this year.
