In the past two days, Sony released two teaser images for a new game. The images didn’t reveal much information at all towards what the game would be.

Today, they announced exactly what the images referred to. Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus is a brand new adventure featuring everyone’s favorite little robot, and whatever Ratchet is exactly. This new game will be an epilogue to the Future saga (Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time). Sony also released the first ever co-op adventure for Ratchet and Clank in the past, All 4 One, and there was a competitive game as well, Full Frontal Assault. Now, Sony is returning to the single player game type with Into the Nexus.

This new adventure will be developed by its home studio, Insomniac Games, and directed by Brian Allgeier, the same creative director behind Tools of Destruction and A Crack in TimeInto the Nexus will be a story-driven platform adventure, complete with everything that made the franchise loved by all. Like normal with Ratchet and Clank games, the game will feature many crazy new weapons, including one that turns enemies into a snowman. The game will be available exclusively on PlayStation 3 this holiday season, and will cost $29.99 in the market. This will be the biggest downloadable Ratchet and Clank adventure to date.

Check out the official announcement trailer below, and stay tuned here for more information as it’s released.
