With the new console announcement it was no surprise how quickly pre-orders had run out. Last month Amazon made an announcement that they had run out of the Xbox One Day One Edition but that they were still accepting orders for the Standard Edition. However, if you waited to place your pre-order for an Xbox One until after August 15 there is no guarantee that you will receive your console after the release date. Amazon said that it “will ship orders as soon as we receive inventory”.

Microsoft has yet to confirm whether any pre-orders of Xbox One placed beyond August 15 will – or will not – be fulfilled.
