Customer service is never easy, especially during big releases. The launch of Rockstar’s highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V went smoothly, well, for the most part. After running into some issues picking up his copy of the game during one of GameStop’s midnight-launches, the exchange between employee and customer got..heated.

Mind you, it’s common knowledge that to pick up a reserve at GameStop you’ll have to provide photo I.D., but threatening to give out a customer’s personal information for people to mock him? Never a good idea and it seems (according to YouTube at least) she has lost it her job as a result.

After being uploaded by California resident Curtis Lepore, GameStop became aware of the situation and released the following, official statement.

“We are aware of this incident and are currently investigating the situation. We regret that this happened, as we strive to ensure all customers receive a great experience when visiting our stores. We would like to extend an apology to the affected customer as well as any other customer that was offended by this event.”

It wouldn’t be surprising if the manager actually lost her job, no company wants to be viewed negatively. GameStop hasn’t confirmed or denied the employee’s current status with the company, but a comment from a YouTube member suggests that she has all ready been let go. Of course, a YouTube comment doesn’t prove anything definitively.
