That’s right, the Battlefield Bad Company could see a potential third installment according to DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson.  Gustavsson talks about their beginnings with Battlefield 1942 in what he considers “a work of passion.”  In regards to Battlefield Bad Company 3 he says “My feeling is that I would love to do it.”

Battlefield Bad Company took a more laid back approach to the otherwise serious and gritty war games.  With a lot of humor, the way Gustavsson describes it. “it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously.”

While Gustavsson talks about his love for the Bad Company series, DICE is currently tied up with games like Mirror’s Edge 2 and a new Star Wars Battlefront.  Both games were announced earlier this year at E3, both as next-gen titles.  This is all on top of DICE working on Battlefield 4, which is currently in beta.

Despite his vocal support for the series, Gustavsson does admit that Bad Company 3 is not currently in active development.  As far as what titles are, EA plans to alternate between Battlefield, Titan Fall and Star Wars: Battlefront as their main annual shooter.

That said, he does reiterate that “the Bad Company [team] isn’t forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation.”  Gustavsson finishes with “They are out there, they’re coming back.”
