Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is officially out for the PlayStation 4 and it has also officially passed the 2 million registered players mark. Prior to the PS4 release, a trailer for A Realm Reborn claimed the game had “1.8 million adventurers”, so a little bit of math will tell you that about 200,000 gamers decided to pick up the game for their PS4.

Now, 2 million registered users does not mean the game has 2 million players; it means that 2 million people have purchased the game. A Realm Reborn does carry a monthly subscription fee, so only players who are either currently playing a free month or are actively paying the subscription are considered active players. According to a statement from the game’s director Naoki Yoshida, A Realm Reborn had about 500,000 people logging on daily in the month of March.
