Yoshihisa Hashimoto, the Chief Technical Officer for Square Enix, has left the company. According to a report filed by Game Watch and confirmed by Polygon, Hashimoto left the company due to personal issues and was not fired. Most recently, Hashimoto served as the technical director for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the manager of the company’s Advanced Technology Division, and lead developer of the Luminous Engine, which was used in the Agni’s Philosophy tech demo at E3 2012.

Hashimoto is another big name to depart Square Enix during their restructuring period. Other big name departures include Masashi Hamauzu, the composer for Final Fantasy XIII and a contributor on FFX and FF7, Hiromichi Tanaka a long time producer and designer at the company.
