As part of the development for the Xbox One head of Xbox, Phil Spencer has announced new custom themes will be available for the system’s dashboard coming soon.

These themes will include different backgrounds and wallpapers. According to Spencer in the recent Inner Circle podcast he said,

“I was told themes and background pics are something that we are working on and screenshots, you know people beat me up on screenshots.” He added, “I think both themes, backgrounds and screenshots are things I know people want so we are going to deliver on them. But we can’t give a when yet.”

These new customizations will become available through the console system updates, Spencer added; “The team has done a great job with the monthly updates, some of the things are just a prioritisation and are a time in development. But I know that people like to customize the look of their dash.”

Currently there is not a confirmed day the new themes will be available, but the Xbox One team is working on developing that and will be available eventually. Check out the video below to listen to The Inner Circle podcast.
