If Metalocalypse and Castlevania has a illegitimate child together it would be Slain!. This 2D, side-scrolling adventure game is so Metal and Brutal it would melt the skin of lesser mortals. It comes out today and Developers, Wolf Brew Games, released a new trailer to prove it.

Players control Bathoryn, a hero in a Gothic world, seeking to liberate the great towers from thier deadly overlords.
Bathoryn must battle his way through a doomed land packed with gruesome pixel art foes before taking on each tower. There will be difficult puzzles, deadly traps, and bloodthirsty monsters along the way. At the heart of each tower, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely.

You must wield three elemental weapons, each one exploiting weaknesses in different enemy types. Each weapon has a different combo, timing, and ‘ideal’ use. Mastering quick switching between weapons is the key to success.
Accompanied by the heavy metal visuals is an even heavier metal soundtrack recorded by Curt Victor Bryant (formally of Celtic Frost). The game has about 10+ hours of havoc, blood, and metal music.

Slain! was successfully Kickstarted almost a year ago, and it’s now ready for human consumption. You can pre-order now on Steam, or continue to headbang to the launch trailer above. Stay Tuned to Gamer Assault Weekly for all of your gaming needs.

I have worked hard to become the COO here at GAW and I love it. I write and stream here and I couldn't be happier. I once had a show that I produced, wrote, and co-hosted called the Wide World of Games. I also co-host a podcast called Party Up! I'm an Action-Adventurer, platformer, RPGer, and FPS kind of gamer. Quick to play any game that has magic, swordplay, and/or stealthy elements. If you can customize a character I'm in it for the long haul. Or just give me your 2D platform and I'm a happy camper. What else do you expect from a gamer with a beard and a bow tie tattoo? Seriously.
