In November of 2015, Blizzard announced that its Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft reached a new high of 40 million players. Well, a new marker has been reached just five months later at 50 million players according to a press release for Hearthstone’s latest expansion, Whispers of the Old Gods.

While we didn’t receive any news as to how Hearthstone is contributing monetarily to Blizzard, the continual updates to content seem to bode well for the card game. More information might come next week during Blizzards quarterly report.
