Back in May, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, a popular mobile game in Japan, would come to the West, but it was unclear when it would launch. Surprisingly, seemingly out of nowhere, Brave Exvius went live today in the United States on iOS and Android devices. You can download the game for yourself here.

You can actually download the game for free from the App Store or the Google Play store and try out the mobile Final Fantasy game yourself. It’s a turn-based action game described as an “entirely new role-playing adventure for the mobile generation.”

Gameplay action is derived from tapping to attack and using magical abilities. Players will team up with Final Fantasy heroes, and explore dungeons and other areas. You can also use summoning spells for Shiva and Ifrit.

The listing gives a synopsis of Brave Exvius‘s story:

“Harnessing the power of the crystals, mankind prospered, nations flourished. But just as day gives way to night, that era of peace proved but a fleeting illusion. Now, as their world stands on the precipice of ruin, two young knights summon visions to their side as they strike out on a journey to chase the shadows. So begins a new tale of crystals, and the heroes who would save them…”

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius might give Final Fantasy fans something to do as the look forward to  Final Fantasy XV being released on September 30th.

I have worked hard to become the COO here at GAW and I love it. I write and stream here and I couldn't be happier. I once had a show that I produced, wrote, and co-hosted called the Wide World of Games. I also co-host a podcast called Party Up! I'm an Action-Adventurer, platformer, RPGer, and FPS kind of gamer. Quick to play any game that has magic, swordplay, and/or stealthy elements. If you can customize a character I'm in it for the long haul. Or just give me your 2D platform and I'm a happy camper. What else do you expect from a gamer with a beard and a bow tie tattoo? Seriously.
