After having already delivered a second, fully fleshed-out Shovel Knight campaign for free, Yacht Club Games continues to impress fans by previewing some of the additional free content it has on the way. Similar to the Plague Knight expansion, there are two more campaigns in development: one starring Specter Knight and one starring King Knight.

Specter Knight will be the first to arrive for players, and like Plague Knight he offers his own unique abilities and attacks. His Dash Slash, which can pull him either diagonally up or down depending on the position of the nearest enemy. Jumping up with it allows Specter Knight to reach things he wouldn’t otherwise be able to get to. He’s also able to climb walls, albeit only to a certain extent. You can see some of his action in the .gif below.

Yacht Club is simultaneously working on both of the new campaigns and other new content, which includes feats, challenges, Battle mode, and Body Swap. The Specter Knight campaign will be coming first to fans, and will be bundled with either Body Swap or Battle mode, which is a competitive multiplayer mode that isn’t planned for release on handhelds. Nothing yet has been officially confirmed. The other mode will then be released with the King Knight campaign later. All of it will be offered for free.

Release dates for these expansions weren’t shared as of yet, but Yacht Club says it “should arrive sooner than the wait between Shovel Knight and Plague Knight.” Plague Knight debuted in September 2015, about 15 months after the base game’s release in June 2014. So fans won’t have to wait 15 months. Stay Tuned to Gamer Assault Weekly for more information as it is released and for all your gaming needs.

I have worked hard to become the COO here at GAW and I love it. I write and stream here and I couldn't be happier. I once had a show that I produced, wrote, and co-hosted called the Wide World of Games. I also co-host a podcast called Party Up! I'm an Action-Adventurer, platformer, RPGer, and FPS kind of gamer. Quick to play any game that has magic, swordplay, and/or stealthy elements. If you can customize a character I'm in it for the long haul. Or just give me your 2D platform and I'm a happy camper. What else do you expect from a gamer with a beard and a bow tie tattoo? Seriously.
