While Batman fans will have to wait a just a little longer for the delayed collection of Batman: Return to Arkham, a new game in the series is out today on mobile to possibly hold you over.

Batman: Arkham Underworld, a free-to-play game developed by Lord of the Rings Online studio Turbine, has arrived for iOS devices. Check out the trailer below.

In Arkham Underworld players will not be controlling the Dark Knight, but rather some of the Caped Crusader’s rouges. The overall goal is to become Arkham’s “next criminal mastermind,” and you’ll do this by amassing an army of henchmen and eventually fighting other bad guys in PvP battles. However, if your criminal empire becomes big enough, you might square off against Batman himself in a final showdown.

Supervillains featured in the game include The Riddler, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc.

In terms of story, Arkham Underworld is supposed to take place before the events of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Batman: Arkham Underworld is out now for iOS mobile. Warner Bros. did not announce any plans to release Arkham Underworld for Android devices. Stay Tuned to Gamer Assault Weekly for more information as it is released and for all you gaming needs.

I have worked hard to become the COO here at GAW and I love it. I write and stream here and I couldn't be happier. I once had a show that I produced, wrote, and co-hosted called the Wide World of Games. I also co-host a podcast called Party Up! I'm an Action-Adventurer, platformer, RPGer, and FPS kind of gamer. Quick to play any game that has magic, swordplay, and/or stealthy elements. If you can customize a character I'm in it for the long haul. Or just give me your 2D platform and I'm a happy camper. What else do you expect from a gamer with a beard and a bow tie tattoo? Seriously.
