For all of you long time Call of Duty fans, there’s some exciting news for you. The port of Call of Duty 2 on Xbox One has been showing massive improvements in its frame rate throughout the game.

Call of Duty 2 was added to Xbox One’s backwards compatibility meaning if you own the disk or have it downloaded, you can play it on your Xbox One now.

The Digital Foundry ran some tests on the game on both Xbox One and Xbox 360, and the 60 fps promise the game has holds up very well on the Xbox One never dropping lower than 50 fps even during the most intense combat or cut-scenes. The Xbox 360 version would dip down to 30-40 fps in these highly intense scenes, which was quite problematic especially with their promise of 60 fps creating awkward moments.

The game still runs at 720p resolution, and will not change in that regard.

Other than that, the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game are exactly the same. This is a rare case where updated and more powerful hardware translates to better performance with backwards compatibility.
