Over a year ago, Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest XI was being developed for the upcoming Nintendo NX. However, shortly after, Square Enix revised their comment and said that a NX version of Dragon Quest XI was actually being “considered”.

Yuji Horii, Dragon Quest creator, has finally confirmed once again that a version of the game is in the works for the Nintendo NX in a Nintendo Dream interview. There will be three versions of the game, all of which are being worked on at the same time, according to Yuji Horii in the interview, all three of these versions of Dragon Quest XI will release at the same time because “spoilers will emerge if we release one version earlier”.

There is no word yet of a Western release for the game, but it hasn’t been confirmed as a Japan only title either. The Japanese release of Dragon Quest XI will be in May 2017.
