OpTic Gaming has acquired Counter Logic Gaming’s Halo lineup, the organization announced Wednesday evening.

Counter Logic Gaming parted ways with their champion team earlier this week, citing the reason being that they simply achieved all that they hoped they would. After two long years of clawing their way to the top the team was finally able to claim the title of world champions in March when they competed at the HWC in Hollywood, California, and now they have decided to hang up the jersey.

“We accomplished what we wanted to in Halo, and it’s time to move on. It’s time to create new story lines and make our mark in esports history once again.”

As for OpTic’s former lineup, every player but team captain Nick “MaNiaC” Kershner has been released from the organization and free to pursue new opportunities within the scene. MaNiaC will be remaining as a part of OpTic Gaming to perform duties that are described as, “Dropping beats and producing content,” which most likely means that he will be assisting their content team with producing videos for their YouTube channel.

The former CLG lineup will be competing in the Fall Season of the Halo Championship Series under OpTic’s banner, which began on Wednesday. The current lineup is as follows:

Paul “SnakeBite” Duarte – Captain

Matthew “Royal 2” Florante

Bradley “Frosty” Bergstrom

TJ “Lethul” Campbell
