It’s no surprise that games with an online market make bucket loads of money, but which ones that make the most may come as a surprise to you.

No Man’s Sky is one of these games. Although critics and gamers giving the game a lot of flack for its lackluster gameplay, but it actually is generating billions of dollars on the online market. Intelligence firm SuperData Research has compiled a data set based on this August’s digital gaming transactions, and what they found was that the has generated £4.7 billion across purchases and microtransactions.

No Man’s Sky was at the top of this list only being beaten slightly by Call of Duty: Black Ops III in digital console transactions. VentureBeats has reported that the game came in sixth place for digital PC transactions generating about £60 million in its first month.

The other game that has surprisingly contributed to this market is the free to play app Pokemon Go. Even though it too has received less than pleasing reviews, the game is generating massive revenue through its online market. It has moved the entire mobile market up about £2.34 billion. Even if these games are abandon later down the line, these numbers will have a lasting effect on the digital purchasing market as it becomes the mode for gaming purchases.
