The Nintendo Switch has quickly become one of the most anticipated consoles and demand is currently higher than supply, as reported by Nintendo.

The company today said that retailers such as GameStop and Target have had to cancel pre-orders due to low inventory. Nintendo has worked to provide retailers with additional systems but have not been able to meet the demand.

The blame, however, might not land on Nintendo. The company states that both retailers continued to take pre-orders once they had sold out.
