The rumors for Pokémon Stars, a third Generation 7 Pokémon title to go along with Pokémon Sun and Moon, are looking even more credible. A recent Japanese job listing suggests Pokémon developer Gamefreak is hiring for what could be a console Pokémon title, the game currently rumored to be Pokémon Stars.

Gamefreak is looking for temporary workers who can consult with the programmers. In particular, they’re looking for people with experience creating 3DCG character models for the Wii U and the PS Vita.

According to Siliconera‘s translation of the job listing, it states that this job will be a chance to “work on the development of a globally popular RPG!” The title of the game isn’t specified, but the listing insists that it’s “a title that just about anyone knows, a proposal that could be your future career.” Furthermore, while more details haven’t been mentioned, they’ve stated that they intend to release this for a home console.

These jobs are contractually based and will conclude by May 2018. Does this mean that this upcoming Gamefreak title will release in 2018? Possibly.

Pokémon Stars was rumored by Eurogamer earlier last year. According to the rumors, Pokémon Stars will feature high-resolution assets made possible by the Switch’s stronger hardware. Eurogamer pointed out Gamefreak showed off some HD in-game models during the February reveal of Pokémon Sun and Moon, which potentially belong to this third title.

We’ll need to wait and see where this leads in the future. Gamefreak may have a huge announcement about the Pokémon series in the next months to come.
