Bandai Namco has filed a trademark for a new Pac-Man project under the name of “Pac-Man Maker.” Could Bandai Namco be attempting a similar level-building experience in the vein of Super Mario Maker?

The application was submit on April 18th and is currently under review by the European Union. However, Bandai Namco has yet to formally announce such a project. Furthermore, the Pac-Man Maker trademark doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a project in development.

NeoGAF initially picked up the trademark page. Because the trademark is filed under video games and “amusement park services,” some believe that it might be for a new arcade game.

The last Pac-Man trademark was for Pac-Man Wild Edition, a slot machine game for use in arcades only. Don’t expect too much out of this, although we’re enjoying the idea that Bandai Namco might be flirting with the idea of a Super Mario Maker-like experience.
