The Nintendo Switch version of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ might be receiving an Amiibo figure to go alongside it. A Tweet from the game’s publisher, Nicalis, shows what could be a mock-up of an Isaac Amiibo.

Nicalis tweeted the image below along with the following caption: “What’s that? You really want an Amiibo from The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Nintendo Switch?” This Tweet doesn’t confirm that an Isaac Amiibo is coming. Rather, Nicalis might be trying to use this Tweet to see if there’s a reasonable fan demand for an Amiibo.

Edmund McMillen, the game’s creator, hasn’t stated what kind of functionality we can expect from the Amiibo in the game’s Switch release. You can expect that it won’t be game-breaking or detract from the game’s rogue-like challenge. When a fan asked, “Can the amiibo make the game less painfully difficult,” McMillen replied back with an emphatic “Never!”

For more information about upcoming Amiibo releases, Nintendo has released information about a number of new Amiibo coming soon during the most recent Nintendo Direct.
