Cuphead trailers have been a fixture of Microsoft’s E3 presentation for the past few years, and it’s finally coming to Xbox One and PC this fall. However, when the developers were asked about the possibility of a PS4 release, they stated that there’s nothing in the works.

One of the developers clarified that the game is indeed a lifetime exclusive for Xbox and PC. On NeoGAF, he wrote, “Yes, this Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win10 versions at launch and a GoG release likely shortly after). There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever).”.

For gamers looking forward to this on Sony consoles, we’re sorry to hear. It’s been heavily advertised by Microsoft, so it’s not a huge surprise- but we know it’s still disappointing.

Cuphead is a side-scrolling bullet hell/platformer with quaint aesthetics inspired by 1930’s propaganda cartoons. It’s a promising indie title that’s been a darling poster child for upcoming indie releases on Microsoft consoles. Look forward to it when it releases on September 29th for Xbox One and PC.
