Good news for Japanese Nintendo fans; Mario Kart GP VR is officially in the works. Unfortunately for Nintendo fans who live anywhere else, so far it is only available in Japan. The newest video that was released for the game has us wishing it was available everywhere.

The video shows the familiar racing format of previous Mario Kart games but in a completely different perspective. The VR puts you in the kart itself, which makes the game that much more intense. You’re able to see piranha plants coming directly on you and see the shells flying in the first person. The VR also gives you a sense of scale when it comes to your surroundings.

Where Will It Be?

The game will open at Bandai Namco’s VR-Zone arcades in Tokyo, however, these arcade cabinets are also set to appear in London. It is not known if they plan to spread into America.  Mario Kart GP VR is made possible through the HTC Vive headset. The video below shows you how it is all made possible.
