Guerrilla Games’ managing director, Hermen Hulst, stated that it’s too early to make announcements about the future of the Killzone franchise.

Guerrilla Games latest IP, Horizon Zero Dawn, has been highly praised by critics and gamers. Selling over 3.4 million copies by the end of April and its upcoming DLC, The Frozen Wilds, launching this November 7th.

In a recent interview with the Academy of Interactive Arts & Science at this year’s upcoming D.I.C.E. Europe event, Hulst discussed the future of Killzone.

I get asked that question a lot through Twitter and other social media channels. It’s really heartwarming to hear that there’s such a strong appetite from the loyal Killzone fanbase. It’s a franchise and universe that we still love with a passion at Guerrilla. It hasn’t been easy doing something so completely different. Whether or not we’ve put a permanent period behind the series, it’s too early to make announcements on that. All I can say is that we’ve always loved the Killzone universe and the Killzone series, and we still do. We share that passion for the game with a lot of our fans.

The last game to release in the franchise was Killzone Shadow Fall, a launch title for the PS4 in November 2013.

Horizon Zero Dawn is now available for PS4.
