PlayerUnknown’s Battleground is currently one of the most played games available today and Microsoft knows that this could be a huge opportunity if they can hold on to the exclusive rights.

According to Bloomberg, Microsoft is talking about extending the period for the console exclusive rights to PUBG. The game is set to release on Xbox One later this year along with the Xbox One X.

Considering that the console is strapped for exclusives, with the latest being Cuphead which has garnered massive popularity among critics and gamers. However, considering Crackdown’s delay and Sony currently holding extremely popular IPs such as NieR: Automata, Uncharted, The Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn Microsoft’s may want to hold on to PUBG.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the rumors but seeing how popular PUBG is it wouldn’t be hard to believe.

PUBG is now available for PC through Steam Early Access.
