The PlayStation Experience had a big announcement for retro PlayStation fans, the return of MediEvil for the PS4.

This isn’t a sequel but a remastered version of the original PlayStation Classic with updated 4K visuals. We are not yet sure what this updated version will include, nor which studio is behind development.

Seeing that the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a massive success, Sony is probably hoping that MediEvil with replicate the same results.

MediEvil originally launched in 1998 in EU and US territories before coming to Japan in 1999. Many critics and gamers loved the Halloween-themed atmosphere, music, and humor. A sequel, MediEvil 2, would be released in 2000 along with a PSP remake of the first game called MediEvl Resurrection.

MediEvil is in development for PlayStation 4.
