Arc System Works, who is also working on Dragon Ball FighterZ, confirmed that BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will release this June and post-release content will feature 20 characters across several DLC packs. The fanbase isn’t too thrilled about the post-launch content.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will launch with 20 characters, with 20 more coming as post-launch content this means that 50% of the roster will be locked behind a paywall. The following packs are confirmed for launch.

  • DLC Character All-in-One Pack
  • DLC Character: Blake Belladonna
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 1: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 2: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 3: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 4: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 5: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 6: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character: ???

On Gematsu, where the story broke, many of the commenters have stated that some of the characters were playable in previous games and wonder why they have become premium content.

Fans of RWBY also pointed out that Ruby and Weiss are available in the core game, but Blake, who is part of Team RWBY, is being sold as DLC instead of part of the main game. As of now, Yang, the final member of Team RWBY, hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s likely she’ll be part of one of the upcoming DLC packs which will no doubt cause more issues.
