Bluepoint Games has been known for remasting older such as HD remasters, including Metal Gear Solid 2: SubstanceMetal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence,  Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, God of War Collection, and The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus. Now the studio is working hard on Shadow of the Colossus PS4. HD Remakes don’t generally gain a lot of buzz, as they’re releases of older titles that many have already played; however, Sony uploaded a video that shows the effort put into these remasters require a great degree of skill, talent, and passion.

Members of Bluepoint discuss how much effort goes into creating a remastered game, using Shadow of the Colossus PS4 as the primary example. The team has to study the game intensely to not only ensure absolute knowledge of the game’s lore, but conduct large amounts of research. This means analyzing original design notes, art, and other material to ensure that new components added to the update feel true to the original developer’s concepts.

It’s a very insightful video that explains the effort that goes into a remastered game. Ensuring that everything added to the game’s increased resolution and graphics fits the original design guarantees an experience that feels nostalgic and authentic.

Shadow of the Colossus PS4 is set to release on the PS4 February 6th.
