Quite an interesting team will be assembling for Crystal Dynamics’ untitled Avengers video game. According to publisher Square Enix, the Tomb Raider developers will be joined by industry talent from Monolith Productions, Sledgehammer Games, and Visceral Games.

In total, 15 top industry veterans have joined the team as of this January. The most notable is EA/Visceral Games’s Stephen Barry, who will serve as the game’s director. As Director of Product Development at Visceral Games, he worked on the Dead Space franchise and a number of other titles.

Former Naughty Dog Creative Director Shaun Escayg will be the game’s Creative Director. “I’m thrilled to join Crystal as Creative Director and be aligned with a team as passionate about telling great character based stories as I am,” he wrote.

Crystal Dynamics had a few remarks to make about the new members of the team. Crystal Dynamics Co-Head of Studio Ron Rosenberg offered the following quote:

We recently hired fifteen world-renowned industry veterans, spanning production leadership, animation, design, art and engineering, who have previously worked on games such as Batman: Arkham Origins, Dead Space, Star Wars: Battlefront and many more. Their AAA experience adds to an already deep roster, making us well-positioned to deliver on the ambitious goals we’ve set for ourselves with The Avengers project. It’s a stellar addition of many people who fit incredibly well into our wheelhouse of building game experiences we all love.

The untitled Avengers project was announced roughly a year ago as part of a multi-game deal with Marvel. More details about it will be due later this year.
