The Demon’s Souls servers were shut down last month but fans have been asking for a remake. With Dark Souls receiving the remastered treatment many hoped the game that started the Souls franchise would get the same procedure. A new listing by the ESRB may have confirmed that Demon’s Souls is getting remade.

Here’s the full ESRB rating:

This is a role-playing game (RPG) in which players attempt to save the medieval kingdom of Boletaria from demons. Players manage a number of stats (e.g., strength, endurance, intelligence) and inventory items while battling humans, animals, and supernatural enemies. Players use melee weapons (swords and axes), bows for ranged attacks, and magical spells to kill an assortment of enemies (e.g., human soldiers, dogs and rats, giant insects, demons). Attacks usually result in large clouds of dark red blood; blood appears splattered on walls, floors, and around corpses in several environments. During one boss battle, blood continually spurts out of the wound of a demon’s stomach and covers a large portion of the floor.

The listing has Demon’s Souls listed as a PlayStation 3 title, which is odd. However, Bluepoint Games, the people behind the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, recently confirmed they were working on a new remastered game. Considering the studio’s last 3 projects were PlayStation exclusives it’s likely their next project will follow this trend. And Demon’s Souls is a PlayStation exclusive title.
