During the Black Ops 4 reveal stream, Treyarch showed off the first look at CoD: BO4’s multiplayer mode. You can watch the reveal trailer below.

Black Ops 4 multiplayer will take place between BO2 and BO3 and combines features from previous games. Like BO2, Black Ops 4 will be entirely boots on the ground, with no boost jumping or wall running in the movement mechanics. Specialists return from Black Ops 3, though their abilities are redesigned to fit the new timeline.

Each Specialist will have a distinct role, withe Treyarch looking to add more teamwork to the Call of Duty experience. The reveal stream even showed off a healer class.

A major change to multiplayer is the removal of regenerating health. Instead of automatically regenerating, players will have to heal themselves  with a dedicated button that is on a cool down. Treyarch hopes this new addition adds another tactical choice to multiplayer. Multiplayer will also be 5v5 instead of the traditional 6v6 from past Call of Duty titles, it is currently unknown how this will change competitive Call of Duty, which is 4v4.

Black Ops 4 will also feature a new weapon system, where every weapon will have unique attachments and an Operator Ability. The Titan LMG’s Operator Ability was revealed during the stream and added a concussive effect to its fire. In addition, Treyarch said that each weapon will have predictive recoil that will be easier to adjust during gunfights.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches worldwide on October 12th.
