Recently, Cory Barlog started a director’s commentary for God of War providing insiders information about the development process for the game. The first part dealt with the first level and how the entire it was redone in the last 6 months of development. Now Barlog provides information of how the first boss was different from the final version.

During the video, Barlog discusses how the first boss had more interaction and was much longer than the final version. With players having to input commands during the cutscenes instead of having Kratos perform them automatically.

In addition, the Barlog explains the use of blood was intentional. Highlighting how brutal the battle between these 2 powerful beings is but at the same time highlighting their healing abilities.

God of War is now available for PS4.
