Nintendo went all out with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate information. They provided the new roster, stage details, and so much more. Plus, they included a release date.

The roster includes:

Mario, Samus, Bowser, Kirby, Link, Donkey Kong, Fox, Falco, Marth, Zelda, Sheik, Villager, Mewtwo, Meta Knight, Sonic, Peach, Pikachu, Ice Climbers, Inkling, Captain Falcon, Zero Suit Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Ness, Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Ness, Lucas, Ruy, Ganondorf, Ike, Cloud, Jigglypuff, Pichu, Roy, Oilmar, Diddy Kong, Lucario, Lucina, Robin, Bayonetta, Me. Game and Watch, Greninja, Pit, Dark Pit, Dr. Mario, Duck Hunt, ROB, Palutena, Corrin, Bowser Jr., Toon Link, Young Link, Mii Fighters, King Deedee, Rosalina and Luna, Wario, Little Mac, Pac-Man, Shulk, Wolf, Mega Man, Luigi, Yoshi, and Snake. And of course Ridley.

Every fighter in the entire franchise, plus the Inklings and Ridley, will join the Switch version. The starting roster includes 12 fighters, but the fighters have been changed slightly and you’ll need to unlock everyone through unrevealed means.

  • Mario will have access to Cappy
  • Link’s bombs can remotely activate and have a new final smash similar to Zelda’s final smash.
  • Ike will have access to Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn outfits.
  • Pikachu will have a female version.
  • Fox is designed after Star Fox Zero and has a new Arwing Final Smash.
  • Falco’s Final Smash will follow the same pattern.
  • Ryu will always face his opponent.
  • Charged moves can be charged mid-air
  • The Dancing Blade, for characters like Marth and Lucina, is faster
  • Shadow Moses is back
  • King Deedee is a cage fight where he launches misses
  • Zelda is based on a Link between Worlds; she has a Triforce of Wisdom Final Smash similar to Link’s original one
  • Sonic’s Final Smash redone and faster
  • Pac-Man’s Final Smash is faster
  • Pokemon Trainer doesn’t have a penalty for using 1 Pokemon and has female version
  • Dramatic slow-mo added for intense finales
  • Big Blue returns
  • Cloud’s limit gauge appears next to damage meter
  • Robin’s Levin sword gauge by damage meter
  • Villager pocketed items displayed
  • Giga Bowser changed
  • Mr. Game and Watch stage returns
  • Kirby Stone ability cosmetic changed
  • Shulk can change to specific powers and Fiora has been added to his Final Smash
  • Ganon gets his Ocarina of Time outfit and he now becomes demon king Ganon when using his Final Smash
  • Move sets for Mii Fighters changed and has more voice options
  • Pit final smash uses the Lightning Chariot
  • Zero Suit Smash uses her ship with a powerful laser for a Final Smash
  • Olimer helmet will crack when damaged.
  • Rodin added as an assist trophy
  • Wario’s Final Smash doesn’t include regular moves
  • Donkey Kong uses fist pummel similar to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
  • Little Mac’s Final Smash is now Giga Mac doing pummel punches
  • Ness’s new Final Smash calls Poo and Paula
  • Lucas’s Final Smash features Kumatora and Boney
  • Wii Fit Trainer face has changed
  • Mega Man’s stage includes both 3DS and Wii U hazards, along with Proto Man and Bass being added to Mega Man’s Final Smash animation
  • Palutena special attack streamlined and down attack is a counter and special
  • ROB has a gauge for fuel amount
  • Echo Fighters – Fighters who look the same but act differently
  • Daisy joins the fight as Peach’s double
  • 8 player battles will return along
  • Defeating Assist trophies will give players points
  • Bomberman added as an assist trophy
  • Inkling was shown in action. Enemies who are covered in ink receive more damage. There are 8 outfits to choose from. Squid Sisters were added as an assist trophy.
  • Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch comes out December 7th for Nintendo Switch.
