Back when Destiny released Bungie re-released the entire game as The Taken King for a new update that was much more popular than the original. Now, Bungie is doing the same with Destiny 2 with the new expansion called Forsaken that includes a new Annual Pass.

The expansion will cost $39.99 along and can be purchased with an Annual Pass for $69.99. Those who want the Annual Pass and Awoken-themed items can get the digital deluxe edition for $79.99.

The Annual Pass includes:

  • Black Armory, winter 2018
  • Joker’s Wild, spring 2019
  • Penumbra, summer 2019

The new story will follow escape prisoners from the Prison of Elders and a new enemy type called The Skorn.

Following years of strife, what remains of the Reef has fallen to lawlessness. You and Cayde-6 are sent to personally investigate the recent unrest. Upon arrival, you soon discover the most-wanted criminals in the Prison of Elders have organized an escape. Beyond the Vanguard’s authority, you’ll pursue these fugitives deep into the Reef. Explore new regions, awaken new powers, earn powerful weapons, and uncover long lost Awoken secrets. The hunt is on.

The Skorn are aggressive creatures who look like they came from Hell, wielding a large assortment of melee weapons such as fails and torches.

Barons, which act as elite versions of The Skorn, have escaped the Prison of Elders. Players will encounter 8 of them each with unique fighting patterns and tactics.

New content includes brand new supers, a bow weapon, and locations such as the Tangled Shore which is a web of asteroids.

The latest mode to be confirmed is called Gambit. Combining PvE and PvP players face against hordes of enemies and deposit currency in a specific location. Players can kill one another to prevent the other team from making deposits.

Dreaming City was touched on by Bungie but not fully explored. Bungie explained it was similar to the Dreadnaught found in The Taken King to support the new end-game content.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches this September 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
