The Switch Fire Emblem game we’ve been waiting for is finally here. The series makes a triumphant return to home consoles with the release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses in 2019.

The new title makes excellent use of its home console hardware. The battlefield now feels like a legitimate military campaign, where you see generic troops fighting alongside your characters. Fire Emblem Echoes‘ excellent 3D overworld exploration returns as wells. We see footage of one of the games’ protagonists running through a castle and engaging with their allies.

We also get a glimpse of the story and some characters. It seems we might be in for a unique band of characters that include an axe-wielding protagonist, a rarity for the series.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses will launch for Nintendo Switch some time in 2019.
