Over the past few months crossplay has been a topic of discussion for many gamers. Microsoft and Nintendo have taken to the internet to showcase their support for having gamers playing together but Sony has been reluctant. Sony’s Shawn Layden attended Gamelab and during a conference was asked by Eurogamer about Sony’s stance on the possible introduction of the feature.

Layden stated that Sony is looking into the feature:

“We’re hearing it. We’re looking at a lot of the possibilities. You can imagine that the circumstances around that affect a lot more than just one game. I’m confident we’ll get to a solution which will be understood and accepted by our gaming community, while at the same time supporting our business.”

Right now Microsoft allows crossplay support for titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, and Minecraft with Fortnite player’s livid that their accounts are limited to only PS4. Perhaps Sony will change their stance in a future update.
