Aliens: Colonial Marines is one of the most infamous games to release. It’s terrible AI was one of many issues that game faced, the most notorious being the vertical cut shown during E3 2012. Now it would seem that the AI issue was caused by a simple error.

Modder James Dickinson discovered the issue while diving into the ACM configuration file. A misspelled word for “teather” instead of “tether”. This fixed improved the Xenomorphs overall AI and according to the modder, this minor adjustment to the original code “AttachXenoToTeather” properly fixes and “controls tactical position adjustment, patrolling and target zoning.”
