Chaos requires work, which can be done at level 30. Try not to enter this Esper domain until level 60.
Location of the apartment:
First, complete the hunts “Lost in the Pudding,” “Waterway Hunting,” and “Crime and Punishment” to get the Blackened Fragment.
Next head into Salikawood ‘s Grand Bower to fight many bosses first.
King’s Bomb
When you enter the area, face King Bomb. Wear flame-resistant gear and buff your party.
First cast Dispel on King Bomb, then Silence. Once disabled, focus on and remove the lesser bombs.
King Bomb has nothing left but physical attacks. Keep Silence on King Bomb to avoid calling for more bombs, casting fire spells, and casting Renew. Once defeated, enter the Nabreus Deadlands.
Naberus Deadlands
Head into The Muted Scarp to the top of the hill next to a save crystal. Talk to Ma’kleou and ask what. Return to Salikawood and return to Rabanastre using Orange Crystal.
Lower town
Head to Lowtown and go into the resistance that gave you the details of “Waterway Hunting” and talk to Deeg inside. Read the letter inside and go to Garamsythe Waterway. Open all gates, all lights are off, and use letter clues to operate controls.
Close 11 (light on)
Close No. 4 (light)
Open 11 (light off)
Close No. 3 (light)
Open 4 (light-off)
When done correctly, you’ll hear a sound. Head south of the semi-circle path and grab the twinkling item on the ground, the Dull Fragment.
Head to Old Dalan’s house and talk to Roh’kenmou, then Filo in Lowtown ‘s southeast part. She’s in a street north of Dalan ‘s house.
Next head to Rabanastre ‘s Southern Plaza, talk to the Curious Woman near the fountain. Now go to Muthru Bazaar and talk to a Clan Provisioner merchant just south.
The Imperial you’re looking for now is drinking in Yugri’s Magicks corner. Head to Lowtown and talk to Kytes near Warehouse # 5 next to the Garamsythe Waterway. Head back to Filo and agree to go inside the Magick shop with the Imperial to get the Grimy Fragment. Back to Old Dalan’s house and give it to Roh’kenmou.
Archadies
Head to Archades and enter Magick Charlotte. Talk to Roh’kenmou upstairs and ask about the Moonsilver Medallion. Head into Old Archades’ Muted Sighs Alley. You’ll find a Proper Gent in the northeast, talk to him and get the Moonsilver Medallion. Return to Roh’kenmou.
Naberus Deadlands
Head to the Deadlands Muted Scarp, talk to Ma’kleou. Head northeast to Hope ‘s Reach. From here the map is a circle, keep circling until you reach The Slumbermead Keep. There’s an area to cross in the western part of the map. West from the exit to a hostile Orange Crystal is not shown on the map. Run across the border until you’ve got the right spot and head into the area you’ll find the acolytes.
Head back to Slumbermead and north to Lifeless Strand and Fallen Lord Fields. Here is Nabudis’ entrance to Necrohol.
Nabudis necrohol
Libra and Float traps are important here. Also, here are many powerful enemies. Helvinek can teleport to your party at any time and can devastate allies caught off guard while rare.
Follow the ruins until you reach the Ivory Covenant Hall. Head South, and examine the east door halfway down, place the medallion in it and prepare for a fight.
Wrath
Don’t let your size fool you, Fury’s brute. Dispel is always a must, keep one ally in that job. If Fury uses Bacchus Wine, immediately dispel it as it can KO allies with some hits.
When HP reaches critical, Fury will try to use more wine to keep berserk. Dispel, heal when needed, chip away at health.
Mistant Humbaba
Next head back to the previous hall, heading south. Take the stars to the Highborn Cloister, head down the hallway until you find a door halfway. This isn’t the door you want, it’s the Distant Song Cloister next area. Head down another corridor until you find another Fury-like door, and prepare for another fight.
Humbaba shifts between physical and dark attacks if you use a Demon Shield. Dispel Humbaba’s protection whenever he casts it and protect your party. Humbaba’s Tremblor attack can cause 1k damage and cause Immobilize or Disable, but Float can make it useless. If you don’t have float, protect your party.
Humbaba is holy weak if you can spare the MP. Humbaba doesn’t change tactics in HP Critical so keep attacking and healing until he’s dead. Once done, you’ll have done everything to face Chaos and now own Might’s Medallion.
Chaos, wheel-walker
Return to the Highborn Cloister and exit the door you passed to get to Humbaba ‘s room.
Chaos removes command Attack. This means it’ll be a strictly magic and fighting techniques. Equip everyone with Rose Corsage to prevent Silence and buy at Dalmasca Westersand, Ogir-Yensa Sandsea, and Tomb of Raithwall. If possible, equip your main healer with a shield and have Lure on your tank to ensure the tank focuses on all damage.
Dispel Chaos immediately and focus on the Chaosjets as they can cast Silence and heal Chaos. Earth is weak to wind, air is weak to earth, water is weak to fire. If you have Scathe, it’ll easily destroy any of them, Bio and Souleater also work.
Once all the Chaosjets are dead switch to Bowline Sashes that can be bought in Old Archades and prevent Confusion, and focus on Chaos. Chaos uses air attacks and physical attacks. He will also drain your MP using Fearga, including “Self: MP Less than 10% – Ether” Casting Slow on Chaos will reduce this, but having Ethers and Charge is ideal.
HP Critical Chaos enrages and increases physical damage. Use your Quickenings and gain control of another Esper.
